A Basic Will

Many people have not turned their minds to what would happen to their assets and liabilities upon their death.  A Will is a key tool in managing these issues and reducing conflict over your estate after you have passed away.

A Will is an important tool which you should have available to your family and friends.  If you die without a will or “intestate”, your family and other beneficiaries can be left to wait for long periods of time before being able to have access to the benefits which you would want for them when you are gone.

Having a basic Will drafted need not be a time consuming endeavour.  At MacCormac Law we can meet with you to discuss your situation and work with you to prepare a basic Will which can greatly assist your family and friends in taking care of your financial and property affairs upon your death.

Powers of Attorney for Personal Care and Property

It is too late for your friends and family to make decisions for you after you have become incapacitated, if you don’t have Power of Attorney documents authorizing them to act.  Power of Attorney documents will greatly assist your family members to manage your financial, property and health care issues if you should become incapacitated.

Most people do not have these documents prepared until it is too late.  It is important to begin the process of preparing your Power of Attorney documents today so that if anything unexpected should happen and you are unable to make decisions for your life, you have the comfort of knowing that those who love and care for you will take care of your personal and financial issues on your behalf.
